In order to gain certification, therapists are required to accrue a certain amount of practicum / practice hours. You can benefit by seeing a skilled, professional Counsellor as they acquire hours for certification.
If your budget or schedule does not allow for sessions with a registered clinical counsellor, rest assured that our practicum students have been personally screened to ensure all incoming clients can receive quality counselling. The students receive direct supervision from a Registered Clinical Counsellor while they complete their training and see clients at reduced rates on a sliding scale. |

We are pleased to welcome Alana to Allison Rice Therapy & Associates as an intern counsellor in May 2026.
With over 7 years of experience in the helping profession, she has supported clients through a variety of issues, such as relationship challenges, trauma, low self-worth, anxiety, and depression. Alana brings warmth, humour, and a non-judgmental presence to promote a space where the client can feel supported and grow. Grounded in a person-centred approach, she believes it is important to foster a strong and trusting relationship between the client and counsellor.
Additionally, she may incorporate other modalities such as solution-focused therapy and narrative therapy in order to better tailor her approach to the client's specific needs and beliefs.

We are pleased to welcome Amy to Allison Rice Therapy & Associates as an intern counsellor in June 2026.
Amy draws on multiple modalities such as family systems therapy, narrative therapy and emotion focused therapy, integrating these according to the needs and wishes of the person she’s working with. She brings personal experience and professional knowledge and training in the following areas:
- Supporting parents and families healing from family violence/abuse
- Exploring primary attachment wounds interfering with present relationships and self-regulation
- Recognizing and recovering from chronic, toxic stress or burnout
- Intergenerational trauma (poverty, substance use, violence, separation, foster care, grief, loss, incarceration/systemic harm)
- Coping with anxiety, depression and isolation in a complex and fast-paced world

Graeme is completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. He has over 15 years as a professional artist and believes in the healing power of relationships and genuine connection. His approach is non-judgmental, curious, and works on the basis that everyone possesses the tools and power for change within themselves..
